Feature
VS Code extension
Open the Kanbus board in a VS Code tab, next to your code, with live updates as you and your agents change issues from the CLI.
The Kanbus Board extension puts the Kanban board inside VS Code. It opens the same console you would run in a browser, in an editor tab beside your code, so you can watch the board without switching windows. The extension bundles the kbsc console server and starts it for you.
Open the board
The extension activates in any workspace that contains a .kanbus.yml file. Run kbs init first if the repository does not have one yet.
Open the workspace that contains your Kanbus project.
Open the Command Palette with
Cmd+Shift+Pon macOS orCtrl+Shift+Pon Windows and Linux.Run Kanbus: Open Board. The board opens in a new tab and updates in real time when issues change.
The only setting is kanbus.port, the port for the bundled server. The default, 0, picks a free port automatically.
What it does and does not do
The tab shows the same board as the standalone console, with the same search, filters, detail panel, metrics and wiki views. Like the console, it is a viewer for issues: create and update issues with kbs in the integrated terminal, and the board reflects the change at once. The extension adds one command, Kanbus: Open Board; it has no Activity Bar view and does not link issue IDs in your code.
Install
The extension is named Kanbus Board, from the publisher kanbus, and is at version 0.1.0. Its source is in apps/vscode in the Kanbus repository. To build and install it from source, build the Rust console server and the console assets first, then package the extension:
cd rust && cargo build --release
cd ../apps/console && npm install && npm run build
cd ../vscode && npm install && npm run package
code --install-extension kanbus-board-0.1.0.vsix
